LOS ANGELES, CA – The Executive Board of the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters voted unanimously to endorse City Council President Herb Wesson yesterday for Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, District 2. The Union represents more than 40,000 carpenters in Southern California.
“Herb Wesson has championed forward-thinking policies that make Los Angeles a better place for our members, where they can afford to live where they work, spend more time with their families, and take pride in shaping their communities,” said Dan Langford, the Council’s Executive Secretary-Treasurer. “President Wesson has earned our endorsement, not only for his career-long fight for policies for fair working conditions, but for his vision of a future Los Angeles County that prioritizes the creation of good jobs, sustained economic development, and expanded pathways to rebuild Southern California’s shrinking middle class.”
President Wesson reacted to the announcement, saying, “I am honored to have earned the endorsement of the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters and I look forward to partnering with them to expand access to the middle class by creating well-paying jobs and solving the housing affordability crisis. Together, we can make Los Angeles a great place to live, work and raise a family for all.”
