Senator Mark Kelly and Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh visited Southwest Carpenters’ Training Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Kelly and Walsh – along with Local 1912 President Fabian Sandez – toured the Training Center, audited training classes, and met with Apprentices.
They spoked to the crowd of Apprentices and media about the importance of Jobs, Wages, and Benefits, and how President Biden’s Infrastructure Plan can bring good infrastructure jobs to Arizona. From highways and bridges to critical water infrastructure projects, there are jobs for thousands of Carpenters coming down the pike.
The Senator and the Secretary were able to see first-hand the rigorous training that the Southwest Carpenters Training Fund undertakes the prepare these badly needed Carpenters for a successful future in the Union and in the state of Arizona.
