Volunteers from Local 619 turned out at the Jackie Robinson YMCA in San Diego to spread some Christmas cheer to children in need. Union Carpenters along with members of the Women’s Auxiliary 1904 built wood toolboxes with children from the community. The finished toolboxes were given to the kids as a gift to take home. For many of the kids, this was the first time they’d hammered a nail or held a tool.
Local 619 and Women’s Auxiliary 1904 work with community partners and elected officials to bring community wealth to the San Diego area. Volunteers organize food drives, blood drives, fix sidewalks, and strive to enhance the quality of life for all San Diego residents.
