Bakersfield Carpenters Welcome the Holiday Season, Take Home Trophy for Best Float

Bakersfield – Last night the Bakersfield Carpenters were in full holiday spirit. Local 743’s participation in the 35th annual Bakersfield Christmas Parade was the culmination of two weeks of work building the float and a year’s worth of community service that included volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and building the 9/11 memorial outside Bakersfield Fire Station Number 15.

Their hard work paid off as the float and strong showing of SWRCC Local 743 members, family, and friends were awarded first place in the Non-profit/Civic category.

Celebrate their story and watch how the float was built in the video below.

Carpenters across the Council are welcoming the holiday season with spectacular custom-built floats for local holiday parades. Earlier this week we highlighted our New Mexico brothers and sisters and their entry in Albuquerque’s annual Twinkle Light parade.
